The Rock

In no particular order – dedicated to our father and all other fathers (especially those who adore their daughters as much as their sons).

Fathers Day, Poetry

He, whose face was our canvas every once in a while,

He taught us the virtues of patience,

He made us fall in love with books and movies,

He watches Terminator 2 with us whenever it plays,

He fakes love for Steven Seagal and Chuck Norris,

He would put his glasses on his head and forget where he kept them,

His sudden found passion for golf is like mid-life crisis :),

He told us we could do what we want,

He gave us confidence to face the world,

He told us that education is more important than beauty,

He still amazes us with his knowledge and thirst for information,

He gave us math and science lessons when we wanted,

He had all the time in the world for us girls,

He never let us feel we were different, or that he wanted boys,

He still makes us laugh at his silly jokes,

He hardly ever raised his voice against us,

He is the person we turn to when we have a doubt,

He is the rock that holds on even if the river gushes over it,

He is the one that binds us all – the father of the house,

And we, the three ladies in your life, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
